The latest Solaris licensing and support rumbles
You know, I would really like it if my crazy pessimistic predictionsfor Solaris would stop coming true ( cf ). The latest news in the Solaris communityis Oracle has apparently started telling people about the newSolaris licensing model (note that I haven't seen confirmation of this yet). Boiled down,it appears to be:
- you can only run Solaris on Sun hardware (either directly on the hardwareor virtualized through your choice of virtualization system); Solarislicenses are attached to the hardware and are not available

Here's a question that interests me: why don't I havea standard C version of my Python warn() function ? The Python version shows up in mostprograms I write, but in my C programs I generally directly fprintf() errors to stderr, instead of having a utility function for it.
