E-scooter rider dies after striking open door of parked vehicle in Toronto

An e-scooter rider has died after striking the open door of a parked vehicle in Toronto over the weekend.

Officers were called to the area of Driftwood Avenue and Jane Street around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday for reports of a collision.

It was reported that a 60-year-old man was driving a scooter westbound on Driftwood Avenue when “for unknown reasons,” he struck the open driver-side door of a parked vehicle.

Modular's Mojo Language Now Open-Source Following Qualcomm Acquisition

Modular, the AI startup founded by Chris Lattner of LLVM and Swift fame, has open-sourced their Mojo systems programming language! This comes following the recent acquisition of Modular by Qualcomm.

Modular had previously open-sourced the Mojo standard library. With the recent Qualcomm acquisition I didn't expect to see much on the open-sourcing side given Qualcomm's mixed history, but following last week's Mojo 1.0 release, Mojo is now available under an Apache 2.0 license.
