MEXICO CITY (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - A promise from Argentina’s largest bank to hire transgender workers has ignited a backlash from some LGBT+ rights groups who argue that the hiring should favor trans women who face higher rates of violence than do trans men.

State-owned Banco Nacion announced last week that it would seek to make 1% of its workforce consist of transgender people, part of an agreement with the banking industry’s labor union, Asociacion Bancaria.

Trump escorted from briefing after shooting near White House - Reuters Canada

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Secret Service abruptly escorted President Donald Trump out of the White House press room in the middle of a briefing on Monday because of a shooting outside the White House.

White House announces spectrum auction in 2021 to fuel 5G growth - Reuters India

WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Reuters) - The White House on Monday unveiled plans to auction off 100 megahertz of midband spectrum for use starting in mid-2022, part of U.S. efforts to ramp up fifth-generation network coverage.
