TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Floridians could soon be able to kill bears threatening them on their property with no consequences — if they don’t bait or provoke them first or turn them into meals or rugs later.

A measure approved in its final House committee stop Tuesday would allow people without a hunting permit to use fatal force against a bear that’s threatening a human, a pet or a home. Indiana man agrees to plead guilty to killing teenage girl who worked for him

RUSHVILLE, Ind. (AP) — The man accused of strangling and killing a 17-year-old central Indiana girl has agreed to plead guilty to murder, court documents state.

Patrick Scott, 59, of Arlington, entered the plea in Rush County Circuit Court last week.

Video shows Toronto arson suspect dousing house with gasoline before being confronted

Authorities are hoping to identify at least one suspect in a case of arson after surveillance footage captured a man pouring a flammable liquid at the rear end of a residence in Toronto, police said.

Officers were called to the home in the Spadina Road and Bloor Street West area in the Annex at approximately 4 a.m. on Jan. 27.

It’s alleged the suspect entered the rear driveway area of the residence, and video shows the culprit pouring a flammable liquid into the home’s entryway.
