Woman seriously hurt after shooting at Brampton hotel

A woman has serious injuries following an overnight shooting at a hotel in Brampton early Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to the Park Inn by Radisson near The Gore Road and Fogal Road, north of Queen Street, around 2:15 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.

Officers arrived to find a woman with gunshot wounds in the lobby of the hotel, Peel police said.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries.

Only 34 of the 71 Senators present in the upper house of the Czech Parliament late Wednesday voted in favor of the treaty known as the Istanbul Convention. The result was two votes short of the majority needed to pass.
