Nevada’s Republican governor endorses Trump for president three weeks ahead of party-run caucus

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s Republican governor endorsed former president Donald Trump on Thursday, offering a major backing in a key swing state that Trump is looking to win handily in a caucus next month and will be competitive come the general election.

Former Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo that he believed the economy and foreign affairs were more stable under Trump, and that for “all practical purposes … the race is over.”

Trump had endorsed Lombardo during the former sheriff’s 2022 run for governor


Best Buy and Bell partner up to rebrand, revamp The Source stores across Canada

MONTREAL — Best Buy Canada and Bell Canada have announced a partnership to rebrand and revamp 165 The Source stores.

The companies say The Source, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell, will be rebranded as Best Buy Express, with locations expected to start opening in the second half of 2024.

The small-format stores will offer consumer electronics as well as wireline and wireless services from Bell, Virgin Plus and Lucky Mobile.

Ohio can freeze ex-top utility regulator’s $8 million in assets, high court says

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The legal dispute over whether it was appropriate to freeze $8 million in personal assets belonging to a former top Ohio utility regulator caught up in a has ping-ponged once again.

In a ruling Tuesday, the Ohio Supreme Court reversed the Tenth District Court of Appeals’ decision and reinstated a lower court’s order, allowing Sam Randazzo’s assets to be frozen once again. The high court determined the appeals court erred on a technicality when it unfroze Randazzo’s property.

Prosecutors arrest flight attendant on suspicion of trying to record teen girl in airplane bathroom

BOSTON (AP) — Police arrested an American Airlines flight attendant on Thursday on suspicion of trying to secretly record a 14-year-old female passenger using a bathroom aboard an airplane he was working on last September.

Police also allege Estes Carter Thompson III, 37, of Charlotte, North Carolina, had recordings of four other minor female passengers using lavatories on an aircraft he had worked on previously.

Thompson was charged with attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of child sexual abuse images depicting a prepubescent minor.


Man arrested in series of New York City stabbings, police say

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police have arrested a hospital worker from Queens after a series of recent stabbings, officials announced Thursday.

NYPD Commissioner described the six attacks over the past 10 days, none of which were fatal, as “random, unmotivated violence” at a news conference.

Jermain Rigueur, a 27-year-old greeter at a city hospital, was arrested on charges of attempted murder in connection with three of the cases, and assault in a fourth, all in Queens.


Prosecutor seeks kidnapping charges in case of missing Indiana teens

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The prosecutor in the case of an Indiana man asked a judge Thursday to allow new two new counts each of kidnapping and murder while kidnapping.
