17-year-old facing a dozen charges in carjacking, robbery investigations

A 17-year-old is facing a dozen charges in connection with an alleged carjacking and robbery in Etobicoke and Scarborough last spring.

Police say just before midnight on May 5, 2023, two people approached a vehicle in the area of Islington Avenue and Jutland Road. One of the suspects pepper-sprayed the driver of the car before both suspects fled with the vehicle.

MLSE report finds several barriers preventing Ontario youth from getting involved in sports

An 18-year-old student fatally shot last year after his high school graduation in Virginia had been kept home for months because of fears for his safety but was still allowed to attend commencement ceremonies, according to report released Wednesday.

Package mailed to rural California elections office tested positive for fentanyl, authorities say

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a suspicious envelope sent to the elections office in Yuba County on Wednesday morning that might have contained fentanyl.
