Apple Watch Ultra 3 might get my upgrade for its software, not hardware

Apple Watch Ultra 3 is coming later this year. It will reportedly feature satellite connectivity, 5G cellular, and high blood pressure detection. But the thing that might win me over isn’t hardware, and it isn’t even actually new at all.

Last fall, Apple Watch Series 10 arrived with a display that’s just as large as what the Ultra offers—but for nearly half the price.

Apple releases beta 3 for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3

Apple released new betas today, but only for two of its platforms. tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 have received new developer beta 3 updates, bringing them ahead of the rest of Apple’s platforms in the beta cycle.

New betas from Apple have been expected for this week, but the ones that arrived today are only a couple of the updates anticipated.

Apple’s full roster of updates currently in beta includes:

Apple joins UALink group tasked with taking on Nvidia’s AI hardware dominance

Apple has officially gained a board seat on the Ultra Accelerator Link Consortium, a group of more than 65 members developing next generation AI accelerator architecture. Apple’s involvement will allow the company to influence the new standard and push for its adoption. That basically means that Apple will be involved in creating and promoting a standard for connecting a bunch of GPUs together in data centers powering AI tasks.

CarPlay 2 custom widgets UI revealed as Apple continues development
