Shazam tops 100 billion song recognition milestone

Shazam, the song recognition service that Apple acquired in 2018, today announced a major milestone: its users have now identified more than 100 billion songs.

The most identified song is Dance Monkey, by Tones and I, which has been recognized by Shazam more than 45 million times.

While the standalone Shazam app remains available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, Shazam has been increasingly integrated into Apple’s operating systems and services.

Lawyers acting for Apple are today expected to ask a federal judge to dismiss the DOJ antitrust case against the company in its entirety.
