Russian government forces Apple to remove more independent news apps

Apple provides the App Store in every market possible, providing access to as much software as possible. However, part of that responsibility is abiding by local government rules. The latest example occurs in Russia. Apple was quick to exit Russia as a retailer and mobile payments provider following Russian’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, the app listing fight continues. shares their experience:

tvOS 18 added a new Apple TV 4K setting that’s been a no-brainer upgrade

tvOS might be one of the hardest platforms for Apple to iterate upon. There’s only so much you can do to improve the TV experience, right? But tvOS 18 has proven that adage wrong by offering several great new features —including a key Enhance Dialogue setting that’s been a no-brainer upgrade for me.

Last year in tvOS 17 , the Apple TV 4K gained a new setting called Enhance Dialogue. The feature solved a common problem in TV shows and movies: dialogue being drowned

AI Diary: Visual Intelligence first impressions leave me excited for the future

I know, it’s just a developer beta, and if anyone from Apple asks then my Visual Intelligence first impressions are purely offered in the context of its future potential. But I have to say that trying it leaves me excited for that future.

The actual Apple Intelligence part is currently relatively limited. In most cases, you get a choice between asking ChatGPT to describe to you what you are seeing and a Google search …

From what we can tell, Apple Intelligence performs a few functions directly:

One year after the end of Apple leather iPhone cases, what do you use? [Poll]

I’m fairly firmly convinced that people who don’t keep their iPhone in a case are from an entirely different species to me. While I don’t make a habit of dropping mine, I don’t think there has been a year in which I haven’t dropped or knocked it against something at least once.

For me, then, an iPhone case falls into the category of a necessity rather than a luxury – but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a luxurious look and
