PSA: iOS 18.2 beta is limited to AI-compatible iPhones for now

Apple has released the first beta for iOS 18.2. It includes powerful new Apple Intelligence features like Genmoji, ChatGPT integration, and more. But before heading to your Settings app, there’s one important limitation to know: the beta is currently limited to AI-compatible iPhones.

Apple Intelligence is only available on some of the most modern iPhone models.

There are six supported models in total:

  • iPhone 16
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone

iOS 18.2 brings Apple Intelligence support to more regions

The first developer beta of iOS 18.2 has been released today , including a bevy of new Apple Intelligence features, like image generation with Genmoji and Image Playground.

But most interestingly for users outside of the United States, iOS 18.2 also officially expands Apple Intelligence support the United States for the first time.

With iOS 18.1, users from other countries can try out Apple Intelligence if they change their device system language setting to US English.

Iowa latest state to adopt Apple Wallet digital driver’s licenses

Apple is steadily adding more states to its list of compatible Apple Wallet digital ID partners. The latest to join is Iowa, joining seven other states that support driver’s licenses via iPhone and Apple Watch.

Report: Apple slashes iPhone 16 orders by 10 million units, but Pro sales look strong

Apple is just a week away from reporting its quarterly earnings, and providing a forecast for the holiday quarter. Today we may have received a preview of what to expect, though. Apple and Goldman Sachs fined over $89 million for ‘Apple Card failures’

Apple and Goldman Sachs have with over $89 million in fines due to “Apple Card failures.” The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced the ruling today after a multi-year probe into Apple Card.

While it was initially believed that Goldman Sachs would be the one on the hook for these fines , it turns out that Apple itself will also have to pay up.
