HomeKit Weekly: Smartwings expands HomeKit blinds with PoE-powered Matter-over-Ethernet

Smart home automation is all about convenience or security. For me, automation with motorized shades is one upgrade that makes a real difference day-to-day. Instead of manually raising and lowering them at the beginning and end of the day, automation ensures the perfect amount of light—without thinking about it. Recently, announced a new set of , eliminating the need for charging. While PoE is an option, it’s not required, making these some of the most best smart home motorized shades on the market

My only AirPods Pro problem was fixed by Apple’s Shortcuts app

I’m a very big AirPods fan. I use my AirPods Pro 2 all day, every day of the work week. But there’s one AirPods shortcoming that’s my only real complaint, and it involves toggling between noise modes in Control Center. Fortunately, I’ve found the perfect fix thanks to the Shortcuts app.

Let me explain a scenario I encounter often, that you may be able to relate to.

I’m wearing my AirPods Pro, but I’m not totally sure which

Normally an RC build is expected to be the final software version before public launch.

But as happened yesterday with macOS

Tested: Waterfield’s Shinjuku Backpack is a beautifully efficient bag for Apple users

I’ve described one of Waterfield’s earlier backpacks as a mini-Tardis, as it carries way more inside than you’d ever expect from the compact form factor, and that’s even more true of the latest Shinjuku Backpack.

It looks like a slim backpack suitable for a MacBook, charger, and a few other bits and pieces, but the beautifully-organized layout means it’s surprisingly capacious …

The bag is made from waxed canvas, a tough and highly water-resistant fabric, with

Apple’s Photos app has three great AI features flying under the radar

Most of the time, the topic of AI is centered around very narrow applications of the technology, such as a chatbot or image generation. But Apple’s Photos app has three AI features that quietly succeed in meeting very common user needs, even if you don’t know those features are AI-powered.

I’d guess that the majority of iPhone users with Apple Intelligence support have no idea that the Photos app includes three AI features.

Those features, however, have been around since October and you’

iPhone ‘Fold’ sounds like it’s doing exactly the right thing with its big display

Apple’s first ever foldable iPhone is expected to launch in fall 2026 . The iPhone ‘Fold,’ as I’ve been calling it, will have a book-style design, and one new leak about its inner display shows Apple is doing exactly what I want with that extra screen real estate.

Weibo leaker has previously posted details about the iPhone Fold that were corroborated by others, and today a key detail about the foldable’s inner display.

The iPhone Fold’s large display will
