Qualcomm sets new record in 5G mmWave range

Why it matters: Qualcomm has now demonstrated an mmWave connection at a range of 2.36 miles, double what the company originally promised. Range has been the biggest hurdle for wireless cell providers in adopting and deploying mmWave technology in their networks. Assuming this breakthrough can translate into benefits to wireless carriers, it could significantly speed up 5G deployment and reduce costs for everyone.

Samsung adds an ultra-short throw 4K laser projector to its Lifestyle lineup of TVs

In a nutshell: Samsung announced today that it's bringing a pair of ultra-short throw Premiere projectors to its high-end lineup of Lifestyle TVs. Microsoft blocks Windows 10 May 2020 update for PCs with LTE modems

Facepalm: The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is facing a reoccurring LTE connectivity bug that was fixed for previous versions of the operating system less than two months ago. Previously, Microsoft had to resolve the same issue for Windows versions 1903 and 1909, where users experienced similar erratic behavior on devices equipped with WWAN LTE modems. Microsoft says we should expect a fix for version 2004 sometime later this month.
