Facebook 'prepares' app developers for iOS 14 advertising catastrophe

Bottom line: Facebook's "Audience Network" could be severely crippled by Apple's new privacy features coming in iOS14. Facebook is warning its app developers of a possible drastic or catastrophic reduction in ad revenue for developers. However, the social media titan stands to lose even more income itself if it does not fix the platform to cope with iOS 14's rules.

In June, Apple showcased iOS 14 at its Worldwide Developers Conference. One of the new security features coming to the mobile

Latest Fortnite update will leave iPhone and iPad users behind

In brief: As a result of the ongoing dispute between Apple and Epic Games, iOS devices with Fortnite installed will not receive the latest update to the game, and will be left behind going forward. Device owners that have Fortnite installed can still play the current version (13.40 "Chapter 2 -Season 3") but season Battle Pass progression won't work, nor will crossplay with other platforms that have the latest version of the game.

After the removal of Fortnite from the iOS App Store

PlayStation patent could let Sony build user profiles based on how you hold the controller

Editor's take: A recently published Sony patent application outlines a method for identifying users based on nuances in how they hold and interact with a controller. It could be an interesting alternative to traditional password-based authentication methods but what about privacy concerns?

Sony in the patent application notes that when logging into your account away from home (say, on a friend’s console), your password could become compromised by prying eyes in the room. What’s more, if you forget to log out of your

Asus unveils the Zenfone 7 Pro with triple flippable cameras and 90Hz display

In context: Almost every smartphone maker these days is packing its latest flagship with a high refresh rate display, alongside a 'Pro' or 'Ultra' version that usually goes into four figures. Asus, too, has now adopted this model strategy with the Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro. Refreshingly, both models don't differ wildly in terms of specs, with the chipset and RAM/storage configurations being the only notable factors contributing to their ~$200 price gap.

The new Zenfone 7 Pro

Elon Musk to demonstrate a working Neuralink device during live webcast

Bottom line: Current methods of communicating with or via technology, like typing on a smartphone, are rather slow at around 10 bits per second. Computers, on the other hand, can exchange more than a trillion bits of data per second. Musk believes that if we are to remain a dominant race, we must address this communications bottleneck.

Serial entrepreneur Elon Musk has confirmed plans to share more information regarding his neurotechnology company Neuralink Corporation on Friday.

Founded in the summer of 2016, Neuralink is actively
