NVIDIA enables GeForce GPU passthrough for Windows virtual machines

Linux users can now play Windows games through Virtual Machines.

NVIDIA will now fully support GeForce GPU passthrough, a technology that enables access to GPU on a host machine from the virtual machine environment. This technology has been used for a long time and there were ways to enable it on GeForce graphics cards, however, it was never officially supported.

NVIDIA has delivered on its promise to enable ResizableBAR on GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards by end of March.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards will now support ReBAR, thanks to the manufacturer’s effort and collaboration with AMD and Intel (as well as many motherboard vendors). ReBAR support requires compatible hardware, the latest driver (456.89+), and graphics card firmware to be updated.

China starts mass production of DDR5 memory

Mass production of DDR5 memory starts

We have seen multiple announcements on DDR5 memory from key players in the industry, but so far none of those companies have announced mass production of the new memory modules.

Today Jiahe Jinwei, a company better the fourth largest memory manufacturer in China has publically announced that DDR5 RAM from Micron has entered its facility. This marks the moment when the company is able to begin mass production of the new memory modules.
