Modder brings ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 800W vBIOS to ROG Astral with PCB tweak

ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 joins the 800W club after a small PCB mop

ASUS’ ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 30th Anniversary Limited Edition ships with an 800 W power limit vBIOS, and modders have been trying to get that firmware running on other cards.

The catch is that the Matrix vBIOS does not flash cleanly onto ASUS’ own ROG Astral models, with the ASUS ROG Astral LC GeForce RTX 5090 called out as a problem case. Reports

Three RTX 50 cards reportedly make up 75% of NVIDIA’s Q1 2026 supply

Most RTX 50 cards shipped have either 8GB or 12GB memory

A new Board Channel report claims NVIDIA and add-in board partners have set a Q1 2026 supply mix that puts most volume into a small set of GeForce RTX 50 models. The report says the combined share for three SKUs is about 75%.

The backdrop is the same one we have been hearing for weeks. DRAM supply is tight and GDDR procurement costs are rising. Partners have already been linking availability issues

Hail to the King, Baby: Duke Nukem 3D turns 30

“I’m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I’m all outta gum”.

Duke Nukem 3D just hit the 30-year mark, and the game still feels like a time capsule from the era when PC shooters tried to be loud, funny, and messy in equal measure. The tone has aged in uneven ways, but the design ideas remain easy to spot. Worth adding that this summer the original

NVIDIA GeForce NOW streaming app for Linux PCs is now available

NVIDIA launches native GeForce NOW app for Linux PCs in beta

NVIDIA has released a native GeForce NOW desktop app for Linux in beta. Official support starts with Ubuntu 24.04 and SteamOS.

This matters because Microsoft’s PC Game Pass experience is built around the Xbox app for Windows PCs. Linux users do not get an official Xbox app client. GeForce NOW can still stream a supported subset of PC Game Pass titles after linking a Microsoft account, since the games run from NVIDIA’s cloud PCs.
