Samsung explains SOCAMM2: LPDDRX memory for AI servers

Samsung LPDDR5X in SOCAMM2 footprint

Samsung has announced SOCAMM2, short for Small Outline Compression Attached Memory Module. It is a server memory module that uses LPDDR, a low-power memory type usually found in laptops and phones.

SOCAMM2 is meant for AI data center servers, where systems run training and constant inference workloads and need fast response while keeping power use down. Samsung says it is already supplying samples to customers.

Traditional servers use DDR memory on RDIMM modules. SOCAMM2 takes LPDDR and puts it

System integrator starts offering prebuilt PCs without RAM

Paradox Customs PCs without RAM, as an option

Paradox Customs says it is adding a “no RAM” option to its prebuilt configurator, pointing to ongoing shortages and memory prices climbing. If you already have sticks on hand, you can order the PC without memory and drop your own kit in.

This is an issue because RAM is one of the parts system builders normally rely on for predictable inventory, predictable pricing, and predictable support outcomes. When memory supply gets tight, builders either eat the cost, raise prices,

LG shows Tandem WOLED panels for 2026, 5K 39-inch curved panel teased

LG teases new 2026 OLED panels

TFTCentral spotted a short mention of an unannounced LG Display monitor panel on a 2026 roadmap video. It points to a 39-inch ultrawide with a “5K” class resolution, but there is no formal LG Display confirmation yet.

If that panel is the expected 5K2K 5120 x 2160 format, a 39-inch size would land around 142 PPI. That is close to what you get

Jensen Huang returns to CES 2026 with a NVIDIA Live presentation in Las Vegas

Jensen Huang to host NVIDIA Live at CES 2026 on January 5

No major keynote. No expectations for RTX 50 SUPER. No official product launches announced, even from executives other than Jensen Huang. NVIDIA has confirmed a separate live event on January 5, billed as a “special presentation.”

Since no GeForce social media account has shared the announcement, it likely has little to do with consumer hardware. Expect the usual AI talking points, plus whatever datacenter updates NVIDIA wants to highlight.
