Tech Tour 2025 Panther Lake update confirmed by Intel

This is just a short update to our previous coverage of the Tech Tour 2025, a multi-day event where Intel invites media and analysts for factory tours and presentations on upcoming hardware. The event includes visits to Intel fabs and labs, along with sessions on future products. While Intel has not officially confirmed the full scope of the presentations, it is widely expected that the company is sharing first details on its Panther Lake consumer chips.

AMD details Dense Geometry Format (DGF) with hardware acceleration support for upcoming RDNA5 GPUs

AMD DGF hardware decode is reserved for next-gen RDNA, here’s how it works

AMD blog post focuses on upcoming tech.

AMD’s latest GPUOpen post adds animation support to its Dense Geometry Format (DGF). You can use DGF on today’s GPUs through shaders, but true hardware-accelerated DGF is planned for “future RDNA GPUs”, which means RDNA5. DGF was first shown in 2024, and AMD also published a provisional Vulkan extension this summer.

Intel’s latest Arc driver adds Pro Battlemage support, enables mixed Arc B580 and Pro B60 setup

Intel newest Arc driver supports both gaming and workstation GPUs

This is something I thought I missed when covering the last driver release from Intel . Not only did this driver split graphics support into Arc and pre-Arc GPUs, it also introduced support for workstation GPUs known as the Arc Pro series. Apparently, since the driver was posted, Intel has updated the support list to include Arc Pro B60 and B50 graphics.

Arc Battlemage graphics are split into gaming and workstation series. The latter uses the same architecture

MSI preparing GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus GPU with hidden power connector

MSI copying ideas on how to hide power connectors

One cannot see melted power connectors if they are hidden.

MSI has apparently presented a new graphics card based on the RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X model. This graphics card stands out for one reason only: it uses a hidden power connector design.

The concept itself is not new. Gigabyte, Inno3D, and more recently Sapphire with its NITRO+ series have all experimented with it. The approach places the power connector under a small removable backplate,
