NVIDIA acknowledges it was hacked

Following the incident that occurred last week , NVIDIA has finally acknowledged that malicious actors have infiltrated the company’s servers.

Last week, it was reported that NVIDIA has been a victim of a cyberattack. An unknown group has been able to access NVIDIA internal systems and has supposedly managed to exfiltrate some data. A hacking group, LOPSUS$ has taken responsibility for this hack and confirmed they were able to extract as much as 1 TB of data.

Following the rumor that NVIDIA future data-center GPU architecture name is Blackwell , we received more pictures supposedly mentioning those and other unreleased NVIDIA GPUs.

The pictures that we received mention Ada, Hopper, and Blackwell GPU architecture. The purpose of each architecture is not directly explained, but GPU names appear to confirm that Ada is a gaming architecture, whereas Hopper and Blackwell are for accelerated computing.

Hacking group threatens to leak NVIDIA GPU driver and firmware data, already selling GA102/104 LHR algorithm bypass

NVIDIA is in serious trouble

Hacking group LAPSUS$ claims to have gained access to NVIDIA servers for a week and has been able to exfiltrate 1TB of data.

The group responsible for the ransomware attack on NVIDIA servers a few days ago, now reports that they had access to NVIDIA servers for about a week and have been able to gain admin access to a lot of systems. Furthermore, the group claims that despite NVIDIA’s efforts the data including drivers, schematics or firmware has been accessed.
