Star Citizen Now Requires AVX Support, Killing off Intel Pentium Platforms

Starting with the new Alpha 3.11 patch, Star Citizen officially requires AVX instruction support if you want to play the game. AMD Reportedly In Advanced Talks To Buy Xilinx for Roughly $30 Billion

In what could be a move to broden its attack on rival chipmakers Intel and Nvidia, the Wall Street Journal reports that AMD is in advanced talks to buy FPGA-maker Xilinx in a deal that could top $30 billion. The talks are said to have resumed after a recent pause, so it's unclear if they will result in a successful acquisition. We've reached out to AMD for comment and will update accordingly.
Xilinx is primarily known for its FPGA products.

Just when you think retro gaming couldn't get more pixelated, maker Neythen Treloar comes forward with this awesome Raspberry Pi -powered LED matrix retro gaming project .
The project shared this week shows off a way to play games on an LED panel using a handheld controller. Treloar tested the system with both a Nintendo Switch Pro controller and PlayStation 4 controller. Be advised, however, that this project is still in its Alpha phase, so updates are expected.
