Who needs to buy a Chromecast stick when you build your own, open-source alternative? Software engineer Maya Posch is turning Raspberry Pis into streaming platforms with her latest project known as NymphCast . This open-source Chromecast alternative lets you stream video and audio to your television using a Raspberry Pi .

The project was recently shared on Reddit with evidence of production over the last 6 months on Github. The software is compatible with a variety of Linux hardware with a ready-to-use image released just for the Raspberry Pi

Windows 10 Update Problems: Performance Issues, Boot Failures Arise Again

Stop us if this sounds familiar: Microsoft released a cumulative update to Windows 10, and in the days after its release, people have complained of problems that appear to be caused by the update on various social platforms. Quelle surprise!

The update in question is the KB4551762 update released on March 12. Microsoft said that it "updates a Microsoft Server Message Block 3.1.1 protocol issue that provides shared access to files and printers.


Laptop Demand Plummeted in February

Data from Digitimes research today found that the world's top five laptop vendors saw combined shipments dive almost 40% on month in February following the global outbreak of coronavirus .

China is the world’s leading manufacturing hub for computer hardware, with over 90% of the notebook supply chain hosted there. Problems for tech shipments began as early as last month, according to Digitimes.

Coronavirus, US-China Relations Threaten IC Revenues

At least five workers across three Amazon warehouses in Spain and Italy have contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), according to Bloomberg , which said yesterday that Amazon has kept the warehouses open despite employee protests.
