Why directory URLs have to have trailing slashes

Web servers and many web applications are quite insistent that URLs thatrepresent 'directories' have to end in a slash; if you request the URLwithout the trailing slash, they just give you a redirection to the sameURL with a slash on the end instead of the actual content. One mightwell wonder why they have this neurotic insistence, especially when it complicates URL rewriting for applications thatcan do whatever they want with incoming URLs anyways.

One of the things that strikes me about Saki is how unimportant theactual mahjong games are. While it matters who wins (and sometimeshow powerful their win was), the show pays almost no attention to theactual process of playing and winning. This is especially striking inthe past two episodes (6 and 7), where the show has been focusing on atournament.

(Sometimes we get a little bit of dialog about strategy issues.)

大多數人都喜歡說話，當中原因不難明白。

大多數人都不知道自己不能專心聽別人說話，這也不難理解。

最詭異的情況是喜歡說話的人不明白自己說的都是廢話，他說話的時間越多，大家的時間就被浪費得越嚴重。無法專心聆聽

Mozilla 常有新點子。早些日子 (也真是相當早了…)，他們介紹了的概念，想將一些經常做的動作化為語言般的指令，直接將 URL 欄當成指令輸入的地方。感覺上就好像將搬上 URL 欄，但玩過他們做的，感覺又有些不一樣。

Since I keep rediscovering this every so often, here's what I know aboutrewrite rules in .htaccess files so that I can just read it here thenext time around.
