According to a prominent analyst, Apple plans to launch the M4 variants of the MacBook Pro and Mac mini on November 1, which is a wee bit later than initially expected. The company will not only introduce the new MacBooks and Mac mini but also plans to introduce the M4 iMac. The analyst has now shared the list of configurations that each machine will be available in. Why it matters: Apple could announce a slew of M4-powered devices at the end of this month before releasing some of them on November 1. They include updates to the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini. Cupertino is also predicted to unveil the iPad mini 7.

According to Bloomberg's all-things-Apple-expert Mark Gurman, Apple will announce several products at the end of October.

PassMark software has highlighted a new entry in its CPU Mark single-threaded performance rankings. In a Tweet shared this weekend it embedded a chart showing Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra 9 285K processor (an Arrow Lake-S desktop part) is the new single-core leader in the eponymous benchmark. The firm admits that the tested sample “might be a pre-release engineering sample, but results are looking good.”

A Russian YouTuber allegedly provided a first ever unboxing video of an unannounced Mac, and claims to reveal specs for the M4 MacBook Pro we’re expecting Apple to reveal later this month.

Judging the authenticity of the video is a tough call, but it’s not such a challenge to make an informed guess about the likely accuracy of those specs …

Given that we’re not expecting any changes to the external design of the M4 MacBook Pro, the video itself doesn’t provide any real clues.
