Loongson to Double Thread Count on Next-Gen 3A6000 CPUs

Chinese chipmaker Loongson's next-generation 3A6000-series CPUs will feature simultaneous multithreading support, the latest Linux 6.5 patches that the company submitted (via Phoronix ). The addition of SMT will double the number of threads these chips will process simultaneously.

Loongson's SMT implementation in its next-generation 3A6000-series processors is similar to AMD's and Intel's and enables one physical CPU core to process two threads

Alibaba T-Head TH1520 RISC-V CPU & A Few New Arm SoCs Ready For Linux 6.5

The Arm (and RISC-V) SoC updates have been submitted for merging to the Linux 6.5 kernel. Additions this cycle include an exciting RISC-V processor now supported, NVIDIA Tegra234 "Orin" upstream additions, and other new SoCs and devices/boards being upstreamed.

Intel Xeon SPR-MCC shipment halted, firmware fix already underway

Intel confirms it has halted the shipment of certain Sapphire Rapids processors.

According to the report and statement shared by Tom’s Hardware , Intel is aware of an issue that affects the latest Xeon Medium Core Count Sapphire Rapids (SPR-MCC). It is said that a subset of these CPUs may experience system interruption under certain conditions that were not explained by the company in detail. The good news is that only MCC SKUs are affected with no problems reported
