Apple prepares to source chips from Arizona plant - Bloomberg News - Reuters

Nov 15 (Reuters) - Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is preparing to begin sourcing chips for its devices from a plant under construction in Arizona in the United States, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.

The company may also expand its supply of chips from plants in Europe, the report said, attributing it to remarks by Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook at an internal meeting in Germany with local engineering and retail employees.

Apple declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.

MediaTek Wants a Piece of Windows on Arm

After becoming one of the leading suppliers of system-on-chips for inexpensive Chromebooks, MediaTek wants to address the market of Windows on Arm PCs. To meet performance expectations of Windows users, MediaTek plans to develop SoCs with enhanced CPU and GPU performance, the company reiterated this week.

"In CPU and GPU we are having to make some bigger investments as a foundational capability [for PC-oriented SoCs]," said Vince Hu, a corporate vice president of MediaTek at the company

Ryzen 9 7845HX Chip Appears in Gaming Benchmark

(PR) SiPearl and AMD Join Forces to Develop European Exascale Systems

SiPearl, the company designing the highperformance, low-power microprocessor for European supercomputers, has entered into a business collaboration agreement with AMD to provide a joint offering for exascale supercomputing systems, combining SiPearl's HPC microprocessor, Rhea, with AMD Instinct accelerators.

Initially, AMD and SiPearl will jointly assess the interoperability of the AMD ROCm open software with the SiPearl Rhea microprocessor and build an optimized software solution that would strengthen the capabilities of a SiPearl microprocessor combined with an AMD Instinct accelerator. This joint work targets porting and optimization activities

AMD and SiPearl Team Up for Arm-Based Exascale Supercomputers

SiPearl, a French company that designs Arm-based processors for supercomputers, on Monday teamed up with AMD to provide a joint offering for exascale supercomputers. Under the terms of the deal, SiPearl will provide its Rhea processors, while AMD will offer its Instinct compute GPUs.
