Taiwan's TSMC says it has responded to U.S. chip data request - Reuters

TAIPEI, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) (2330.TW) , the world's largest contract chipmaker, said on Monday it has responded to Washington's data request related to the global chip shortage.

TSMC, a major Apple Inc (AAPL.O) supplier, said in a statement that no customer-specific information was disclosed in response to the U.S. data request to help address the semiconductor shortage that has disrupted production for car makers

USB Additions For Linux 5.16 Include AMD Yellow Carp PM, Apple CD321X

The USB and Thunderbolt updates for the Linux 5.16 kernel have arrived. This time around the changes are on the smaller side but there are two additions worth mentioning.

In the USB/Thunderbolt pull request Greg Kroah-Hartman summarizes this cycle's work as " nothing major in here, just lots of little cleanups and additions for

Sent in on Friday by Bjorn Helgaas were all of the PCI subsystem updates for the Linux 5.16 merge window.

Arguably most notable with the PCI feature pull request is the introduction of the Apple Silicon PCIe driver . That Apple PCIe driver written by Alyssa Rosenzweig and Marc Zyngier is to get more components working for the Apple M1 MacBook and Mac Mini systems. Besides PCI Express itself being important, getting this driver mainlined is necessary for being able to get USB Type-A, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth
