Leaked Benchmarks From Core i9-Powered iMac Surface

A mysterious system packing a Core i9-10910 Comet Lake CPU and a (currently unheard of) AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT with 65GB of RAM has been spotted on an Ashes of the Singularity benchmark score . All data indicates this system could possibly be a prototype for the next generation iMac from Apple.

We've already covered the Core i9-10910 several months ago; this processor is rumored to be exclusively

Apple Patents Multi-Level Hybrid Memory Subsystem

Apple has today patented a new approach to how it uses memory in the System-on-Chip (SoC) subsystem. With the announcement of the M1 processor, Apple has switched away from the traditional Intel-supplied chips and transitioned into a fully custom SoC design called Apple Silicon. The new designs have to integrate every component like the Arm CPU and a custom GPU. Both of these processors need good memory access, and Apple has figured out a solution to the problem of having both the CPU and the GPU

Apple Patent May Hint at the Future of Its Chips: A Multi-Level Hybrid Memory Subsystem

Apple has patented a hybrid memory subsystem that comprises at least two types of memory: a high-bandwidth low-density type of DRAM as well as a low-bandwidth high-density type of DRAM. The patent may provide a glimpse of how Apple sees the future of its system-on-chips. Naturally, the new patent will fuel speculation that we could see newer versions of Apple's M1 chip come with the new memory design, but this type of implementation could

AMD's Ryzen 5000 Lucienne: Not Simply Rebranded Ryzen 4000 Renoir

AMD came in for some harsh criticism when it announced that its new Ryzen 5000 Mobile U-series processors would not all be using its latest core design. At the product announcement, we were told that some of the U-series processors would be based on the previous Zen 2 generation, and this was mainly for partners to take advantage of the new naming scheme but also reuse designs with the same ballpark performance. A number of tech enthusiasts (including myself, I have to say) scoffed at this
