Alibaba offers more DeepSeek AI models at low prices, denies investment rumours

Alibaba’s cloud computing and AI unit is offering six new DeepSeek models through its large language model (LLM) service platform Bailian, according to a WeChat post from Alibaba Cloud on Sunday.

DeepSeek halts account top-ups as AI models rival ChatGPT’s popularity

has temporarily stopped developers from topping up their accounts to access the Chinese start-up’s artificial intelligence (AI) models, a sign of the overwhelming popularity of its products.

The company on Thursday disabled the top-up button on its platform website. A notice attributed the change to “server resource constraints”, but added that “existing balances can still be used”.

Moore Threads GPUs allegedly show 'excellent' inference performance with DeepSeek models

One of the breakthroughs of DeepSeek's open source AI models is that they can be run locally using relatively inexpensive hardware, like the Raspberry Pi .
As it turns out, the DeepSeek V3 and R1 models can even be run on Moore Threads GPUs developed in China, reports ITHome . If true, this is a major achievement for DeepSeek, the hardware designer, and China as this potentially opens new doors for Moore Threads and reduces reliance of DeepSeek and China on Nvidia hardware
