Following earlier reports, ASUS has now officially and temporarily suspended its website and online store in Germany after a ruling by the Munich I Regional Court tied to a patent dispute with Nokia.
The company says the suspension follows a temporary injunction and affects select PCs and products that use High Efficiency Video Coding, also known as HEVC or H.265.
Services and support are still provided
It adds that after-sales services in the country remain fully operational, including support and warranty handling for existing customers. The statement also says it is evaluating and pursuing further legal action while it seeks a resolution under the current court order.

ASUS is not the only company affected by the ruling of German court. The injunction is part of a wider dispute that has also affected Acer, with reporting describing the remedy as an immediate sales stop for affected systems rather than damages only, tied to licensing behavior under Nokia “FRAND” rules.
Worth noting that other companies like Dell or HP have chosen to disable HEVC hardware support altogether. In contrast to ASUS, these businesses cited higher royalties as the cause.
