Valve updates Steam Deck store page with memory and storage shortage notice

Valve has added a new supply warning to its Steam Deck store page, saying the Steam Deck OLED may be “ out-of-stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages. ”
The note follows several days of limited availability in the United States and other regions. The updated wording is the first direct acknowledgement from Valve tying Steam Deck OLED supply to the wider memory and storage crunch.
The same component situation has also affected Valve’s next wave of hardware. Earlier this month, Valve said it still targets shipping the Steam Machine , Steam Frame, and Steam Controller in the first half of 2026, but it is revisiting pricing and launch timing because memory and storage conditions are changing quickly.

Valve’s store page also reiterates a separate product change, the 256GB LCD Steam Deck is no longer in production . Valve announced the phase-out previously, and the remaining stock will be sold through. This version often appears under the official refurbished program, so if you are after the cheapest Steam Deck, this is probably the best option right now.
Valve has not announced any new Steam Deck pricing changes alongside the updated stock notice.
