Sean Wang of Mediatek today posted a set of 11 patches for wiring up MT7902 WiFi+Bluetooth ASIC support within the existing MT76 WiFi driver.
This patch series is what many have been waiting for in finding the Mediatek MT7902 not being supported under Linux for their laptops and other hardware.
It's long overdue with many users complaining over lack of Mediatek MT7902 WiFi 6 support with some users having tried to work on an out-of-tree driver for it but so far appearing to only be successful with the Bluetooth bring-up. Now Mediatek is finally delivering.
Hopefully the patch review goes well on these MT7902 enablement for the MT76 WiFi driver and this support manages to be ready in time for the Linux v7.1 merge window in April.
