RTX 5090 XOC BIOS leaks expand again

Overclocker slovak_killer has posted that another RTX 5090 high-power vBIOS has leaked, this time labeled “ ASTRAL RTX 5090 2000W XOC V2 “. According to him, it is a newer revision that should include a fixed power limit behavior, with the GPU reportedly able to reach 2000W.
This leak follows earlier 2000W-class BIOS chatter tied to ASUS’s Astral family. As we recall, the first XOC bioses to leak were from ASUS, but it was only for the RTX 5090D variant. However, later on, the global RTX 5090 ROG Astral also received its own XOC leak, but apparently it wasn’t perfect. This leak follows the MSI leak, which featured 2500W “XOC” BIOS for the RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z .
Another day, another leak.

After years of stagnation, the NVIDIA Extreme OC scene is waking up
The last few years have been quiet for extreme overclocking. Limited hardware launches and tighter software restrictions played a role. Some board partners also shifted focus away from dedicated extreme overclocking models or quit the market altogether (RIP EVGA Kingpin). That appears to be changing in 2025 and 2026, with more high-power BIOS files and XOC-focused hardware returning to the spotlight.
NVIDIA introduced vBIOS signature checks years ago, which reduced cross-flashing and deeper firmware modification across multiple GeForce generations. Recent leaks also suggest that some XOC BIOS profiles may be less restricted than many expected, at least in terms of circulating files and attempted swaps.
Although the GeForce RTX 5090 is NVIDIA’s most expensive GeForce card to date, demand for this type of firmware appears to be high. Threads on overclocking forums show that some users are still willing to experiment despite the cost (and let’s remind everyone that RTX 5090 is now worth at least $3500). That said, firmware swaps carry a high risk and should be approached cautiously, both because of the chance of bricking hardware and because extreme power profiles can expose weak points in cooling and power delivery. The recent 2500W BIOS incident is a reminder of how quickly these attempts can go wrong, even if the exact cause was not conclusively tied to firmware rather than physical failure.
