If Samsung were looking for additional bragging rights just before the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series, it certainly got those today, when a Galaxy S26 Ultra smoked the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max in the latest Geekbench 6 tests.

Without further ado, here are the latest Geekbench 6 scores for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra:

Do note that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra employed in this test was powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, as is expected to be the norm once the Galaxy S26 series debuts next week .

Interestingly, these scores constitute the pinnacle of what the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip has been able to achieve until now, indicating that Samsung likely applied a host of bespoke optimizations.

For comparison, here are the Geekbench 6 scores for the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max:

As is evident from even a cursory comparison of these results, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has managed to surpass the Geekbench 6 scores of the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max in the single-core as well as the multi-core categories.

For the benefit of those who might not be aware, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to sport a number of color options, including the stunning Cobalt Violet , Black Shadow, White Shadow, and Galactic Blue. Do note that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to debut with rounded edges, a dedicated camera island featuring a triple-camera setup, an all-black color option (including the frame), a USB-C port, an S Pen, and a 5,000mAh battery (some sources have pointed to ).

However, even though it was previously rumored, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is now , which would have unlocked an entire ecosystem of MagSafe accessories.

Meanwhile, in what constitutes a lone star attraction for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is bringing its Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology to the lineup, enabling what is now being dubbed a ' Privacy Display .' Basically, the technology leverages AI to dim angular viewing angles without affecting the screen brightness for a head-on viewing experience. This would prevent anyone from snooping on your smartphone-related activities from lateral angles.

Finally, here is the camera setup on the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra:

1. A 12MP IMX874 selfie camera
2. A 12MP ISOCELL 3LD S5K3LD 3x telephoto (possibly with a smaller, 1/3.94-inch aperture)
3. A single 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera (possibly with a brighter f/1.5 aperture)
4. A 50MP ISOCELL JN3 or Sony IMX564 ultrawide camera
5. A 50MP IMX854 5x periscope camera (possibly with a wider and faster f/2.9 aperture)

Samsung intends to further improve the performance of the camera system within the Galaxy S26 series by implementing a novel noise reduction algorithm, which should yield very sharp images in high resolutions.
