Both Intel and AMD to launch new desktop platforms around CES 2027 next year
A new report tied to leaker Golden Pig Upgrade suggests Intel’s Core Ultra 400 “Nova Lake-S” desktop CPUs may not reach consumers until CES 2027.
That timing would create a split between Intel’s public roadmap messaging and desktop availability. During Intel’s Q4 2025 earnings call prepared remarks, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan said Nova Lake is coming “at the end of 2026.” However, Intel did not break that statement down by desktop and mobile product segments.
If the leak is accurate, late 2026 could still cover early Nova Lake launches, while Nova Lake-S desktops follow at the January 2027 CES window. This kind of staging would also match how desktop platforms often align with early-year system announcements, but Intel has not confirmed any CES 2027 desktop plan.

Both AMD and Intel are now aiming at an early 2027 desktop update
As revealed yesterday , AMD has similar plans for its new desktop parts. According to Benchlife, Olympic Ridge which is the codename for next-gen desktop parts from AMD powered by Zen6 architecture for desktop is now expected no earlier than 2027.
For now, both timelines remain unofficial at the SKU level. Intel has only publicly anchored Nova Lake to “end of 2026,” while the CES 2027 desktop claim and AMD’s Olympic Ridge shift rely on leaks and secondary reporting.
