AMD confirms second FSR Redstone game: Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert launch plans include AMD Redstone features

Ray Regeneration is part of AMD’s “FSR Redstone” feature set, but it is not locked behind “FSR Upscaling” or “FSR Frame Generation.” AMD describes it as a standalone, ML-based denoiser that is decoupled from upscaling, while still being designed to work best alongside the rest of the Redstone stack.

AMD has added Crimson Desert to an official Ryzen and Radeon hardware bundle campaign, setting the game as a promoted PC title tied to its current gaming stack. The company’s bundle page lists qualifying desktop CPUs, GPUs, and selected laptops that include eligible processors.

In a separate interview, Pearl Abyss marketing lead Will Powers described the game as “one of the first” AMD Redstone partner titles, and said the team collaborated with AMD for a CES showing. He also said the booth build was rendered natively in that demo rather than using upscaling.

I was just at CES earlier this year working with AMD and we were showcasing in their booth because this is one of the first games that’s an AMD Redstone partner title.

Redstone is AMD’s umbrella for ML-powered rendering features, including upscaling, frame generation, ray reconstruction-style denoising (“Ray Regeneration”), and radiance caching. AMD’s own overview frames Redstone as a suite developers can implement, with game-by-game support depending on what each title ships. Some of these technologies are either not available or limited to one title only. The Ray Regeneration is currently only in COD BO7.

Assuming no other game gets Redstone before Crimson Desert launches (March 19), this would make it the second game to support this technology.
