Billet Labs completes 99 kg cast-iron radiator gaming PC build, took 3 months to finish

Cast-iron radiator becomes water-cooled PC chassis with 18-liter loop

We have an update on Billet Labs cast iron build . They have just posted a finished gaming PC built, listing the system at 99 kg. The parts list in the post cites a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a GeForce RTX 5080, and 32 GB of memory, with the radiator acting as the main heat exchanger for a full water-cooling loop.

Modder said the loop holds 18 liters of coolant and the project took about three months of mostly full-time work, or about a month without filming. The builder also noted the use of corrosion inhibitor, after other commenters raised concerns about cast iron in a liquid loop.

The thermals sheet shared in the post describes tests run until the coolant temperature reached equilibrium, which the builder said took 60 to 90 minutes. Under a “0% fans” setup, the table shows coolant temperature settling at 26°C in Spider-Man 2 and 29°C in Cyberpunk, with ambient listed at 16 to 17°C.

The same table lists average component temperatures of 60°C CPU and 65°C GPU in Spider-Man 2, and 68°C CPU and 69°C GPU in Cyberpunk. Average power during those entries is shown as 352 W total for Spider-Man 2 and 398 W total for Cyberpunk, split across CPU and GPU.

A combined stress entry labeled Cinebench plus FurMark is shown with 10% fan speed and 100% pump. The table lists coolant at 29.25°C with a 13.25°C water-over-ambient delta, while total power is shown dropping from 520 W to 447 W near the end of the run, with the note attributing the decline to reduced GPU overclocking and slight CPU throttling as temperatures rose.

This is very impressive, but it is also a very unportable system. I cannot imagine a desk that can support a 99 kg gaming PC. It would also heat the room like any radiator. Or maybe that is a plus?
