ASUS Zenbook SORA 16 with Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme officially launches at $2180 in Japan

ASUS announces Zenbook SORA 16 pricing, Snapdragon X2, 3K OLED, 48GB RAM option

ASUS has published Japan pricing and launch timing for its first laptops based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 platform, led by the new Zenbook SORA 16 and an updated Zenbook SORA 14. Both models were shown during ASUS Japan’s “Always Incredible” event on February 25, with retail availability targeted for late March 2026 in Japan.

The Zenbook SORA 16 (UX3607OA) is positioned as the lightest 16-inch Zenbook in the local lineup at about 1.2 kg. ASUS highlights its “Ceraluminum” chassis material and lists up to roughly 22 hours of battery life for the system. This laptop offers the flagship Qualcomm chip called Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme.

On specs, ASUS pairs the 16-inch model with a 16-inch 3K OLED panel (2,880 × 1,800), up to 48GB of LPDDR5X-9523 memory, and a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD. Ports listed for the model include HDMI, two USB4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm combo jack, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

For pricing in Japan, ASUS lists the Zenbook SORA 16 at  about $2,177 for the standard configuration, or about $2,370 for a bundle that includes Microsoft 365 Personal (24-month) and Office Home & Business 2024.

ASUS also confirmed pricing for Zenbook SORA 14 (UX3407NA), which is listed at about 999 g and up to roughly 33 hours of battery life, depending on configuration. Japan pricing starts at about $1,665 and goes up to $1,857 for Office-bundled SKUs, with the same late March release window.

US and EU pricing was not included in ASUS Japan’s announcement, so these figures currently apply to the Japanese market only. Both laptops are scheduled for release in late March 2026.
