NVIDIA SHIELD TV gets another firmware update

NVIDIA SHIELD TV update 9.2.4 adds January 2026 security patches

SHIELD TV originally launched in May 2015. That means NVIDIA is still shipping updates around 10 years and 9 months after release, which remains unusual for an Android TV device.

This update is a small maintenance release rather than a feature drop. NVIDIA says it updates the Android security patch level to January 2026.

The 9.2.4 changelog lists fixes for Disney+ playback, third-party Xbox remote reconnect after sleep, a sleep-related CEC crash that could wake SHIELD and connected devices, frequent disconnects with some third-party Bluetooth remotes, and a settings UI issue when triggering NVIDIA Share over the Settings app.
