Minisforum MS-A2 mini server launches with Ryzen 9 9955HX in 1.78-liter chassis
Minisforum has listed its MS-A2 mini server, a compact system built around AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX mobile processor. The chassis measures 196 × 189 × 48 mm, which works out to roughly 1.78 liters by volume. Minisforum is also offering a second CPU option, the Ryzen 9 7945HX.
On the CPU side, the Ryzen 9 9955HX i s a 16-core, 32-thread Zen 5 part with up to 5.4 GHz boost and 64MB of L3 cache. The Ryzen 9 7945HX matches the 16-core, 32-thread layout, but is based on Zen 4, and is also listed with up to 5.4 GHz and 64MB L3. Graphics are handled by the integrated Radeon 610M.
Memory support is listed up to 96GB via two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots. Minisforum lists DDR5-5600 support for the Ryzen 9000-series configuration, and DDR5-5200 for the Ryzen 7000-series configuration.

© MINISFORUM For storage, Minisforum lists three NVMe slots and adds U.2 support through one of the bays. The spec sheet lists one M.2 2280 slot that also supports U.2 NVMe SSDs (up to 15TB, 7mm), plus two additional M.2 2280/22110 slots (up to 4TB per slot, with PCIe configuration depending on slot).
The PC is now listed on Amazon at $799 barebone and $1199 with preinstalled RAM and storage.
Expansion and networking are a major part of the MS-A2 design. Minisforum lists a physical PCIe x16 slot wired for PCIe 4.0 x8 bandwidth, with support for splitting into two PCIe 4.0 x4 links. Networking includes two 10G SFP+ ports (Intel X710) and two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, plus Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth listed in the specs.
© MINISFORUM Pricing depends on region and configuration. Minisforum’s US store and Amazon lists the Ryzen 9 9955HX barebones at $799, while the Ryzen 9 7945HX barebones is listed at $559. Preconfigured options shown in the US store include $1,199 for Ryzen 9 9955HX with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD, and $1,919 for 96GB RAM with a 2TB SSD. In the EU store, the MS-A2 is listed from €839 (duties included), and the listing notes a mid-March ship estimate for the 9955HX + 64GB + 1TB version.
