NVIDIA GeForce 595.71 driver draws complaints about capped voltage and clocks on RTX 50
NVIDIA has released GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.71 WHQL on March 2, 2026. The release notes describe it as part of the Release 595 family, and list changes made since driver version 591.86.
In early feedback for 595.71, the most common complaint is not about game profiles. Users report GPU core voltage and boost behavior changing, with many claiming a ceiling around 0.95 to 0.975V and clocks that stop around 2,955 to 2,985MHz, or around 3,000MHz, even after applying manual overclocks. Several posts also mention lower board power under load than earlier drivers, which can reduce performance in some scenarios.
Wccftech says it reproduced the behavior on an MSI GeForce RTX 5090 SUPRIM X. With GRD 591.86 and a manual overclock, it recorded 1.020 to 1.030V and 3,015 to 3,030MHz in FurMark. With the same card and settings on GRD 595.71, it observed 1.005 to 1.010V, sometimes 1.00V, and sub-3GHz clocks.

Updated from 591.86 to 595.71 and my MSI 5080 Vanguard’s overclock was totally wrecked. I’m running +100% overvolt, +11% (400W) power limit, +360mhz core clock and +3000mhz memory clock in MSI Afterburner. I was peaking 3230mhz at 1.03V in games for the last 6 months and with this driver I peak 3000mhz at 0.950V. Can’t even get close to my power limit. 200mhz in the trash. It seems like anything past 3000mhz on the curve simply undervolts my GPU instead of boosting the clocks.
