The new app was designed to tackle the friction of shared folders in collaborative photography projects. Here are the details.

As most professionals will likely attest, shared folders are hardly the best way to share images with a client, especially when multiple photographers are involved, like at events, weddings, or portrait sessions.

For this reason, VSCO released to the App Store today, an app that “simplifies the delivery process while promoting collaboration, enabling photographers, guests, event organizers and content creators to gather and share photos in one, photo-first experience.”

The app unifies photos from multiple contributors into a single gallery, and offers VSCO Pro members unlimited storage and password-protected controls.

lets organizers share a QR code that allows contributors (think party or wedding guests) to upload photos directly to the centralized gallery from their desktop or mobile browser, without needing to download the app.

And speaking of desktop, the company says that while today’s launch is mobile-only, there is a desktop app under way.
