Resident Evil Requiem performance loss fixed, you may need to restart your PC to see the effect

NVIDIA says the Resident Evil Requiem performance issue reported by some GeForce users has been resolved. The company is pointing affected players to GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.71, which is the updated “Game Ready” driver for this game.
The reports started circulating after players compared performance across recent drivers, with some claiming lower FPS and reduced power draw in the same settings, often with path tracing enabled. PC Gamer tested multiple drivers on its bench and could not reproduce the large drop. While this could be a specific issue for certain systems, it seems that the reason why PC Gamer did not notice the performance drop is because the game was already ‘patched’.
595.71 also follows the short-lived 595.59 release, which NVIDIA pulled after user reports tied it to fan monitoring and control issues on some GeForce cards. Several outlets have described 595.71 as the corrected package that replaces the recalled build.
Late last night, we pushed an OTA profile update for the Resident Evil Requiem Game Ready Driver (595.71) which resolved this issue. Gamers can force the update by restarting their systems.

What may have changed between early user reports and later retests is the NVIDIA driver profile side. NVIDIA has previously used over-the-air profile delivery to update game-specific behavior without requiring a full driver reinstall, a nd it has said users can force those updates by restarting the system in at least one prior profile rollout.
For users who still see the issue on 595.71, the most practical troubleshooting remains a clean driver install, a reboot to ensure the latest profile is applied, then retesting the same in-game scene and settings. NVIDIA’s official guidance is still to use 595.71 via the NVIDIA app or direct download for Resident Evil Requiem.
