NVIDIA RTX 5050 9GB reportedly in 3 months
Just yesterday we learned that NVIDIA is preparing a surprise “gift” for gamers, with a “generous” upgrade for those looking for next-generation gaming (sarcasm). The update targets the lowest RTX 50 desktop model, the GeForce RTX 5050, and it reportedly adds 1GB of memory alongside faster GDDR7.
Now, according to Benchlife, which is often among the quickest to confirm early board partner information, the site has corroborated this SKU with its sources. Keep in mind that NVIDIA can still change specifications late in the cycle, and we have seen internal documents for products that never reached retail.

It was previously rumored that 3GB of GDDR7 chips would be used in the GeForce RTX 50 series, but the reality is somewhat different from the previous rumors, because the product that was supposed to use 3GB of GDDR7 chips is the GeForce RTX 5050.
In NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture, the GeForce RTX 5050 is the only product that uses GDDR6 memory chips. However, it is now confirmed that we can see NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with GDDR7 chips around Computex 2026. The main reason for this is, of course, the supply and demand of GDDR6. Of course, this does not mean that it will be upgraded from 8GB to 12GB of GDDR7.

Benchlife claims NVIDIA is aiming to introduce this new SKU around Computex , which points to early June. For context, the original GeForce RTX 5050 launched in July last year, so this would land close to its first anniversary. It is not clear whether Computex would be the announcement window or the actual launch, so availability could come later.
One detail worth remembering is that the GeForce RTX 5050 was not positioned as a standard retail model at launch. It primarily targeted OEM and system integrators, but it also appeared through retail channels. NVIDIA also did not provide review samples to the press for the GeForce RTX 5060 8GB or the GeForce RTX 5050 8GB. Based on that, a full media launch for a 9GB model seems unlikely.
