CXMT is reportedly assembling LPCAMM2 modules for Lenovo ThinkBook laptops

A new report claims Lenovo’s ThinkBook 2026 laptops will use LPCAMM2 memory modules assembled by CXMT. The claim is based on a pictured 32GB LPCAMM2 module and attribution to the leaker @realVictor_M.
This matters because LPCAMM2 is designed to replace soldered LPDDR in laptops while keeping it removable and upgradeable. This format is like the soldered LPDDR5X technology but in a detachable design. It is also a JEDEC standard module based on LPDDR, bringing the benefit of LPPDR5 speed in an upgradeable format.

For ThinkBook 2026 specifically, earlier coverage of the platform points to LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X running at up to 8,533 MT/s , paired with Intel Core Ultra 300H series processors in ThinkBook 14+/16+ configurations.
One thing to note is that we don’t know if CXMT is making the full module. Perhaps the company is just assembling the modules, while the DRAM chips themselves may still come from established LPDDR suppliers. The module photo cited in the report lists 32GB capacity and an 8,533 MT/s rating.
