Monitors Unboxed shows 2-year QD-OLED burn-in results after 6,000+ hours

Monitors Unboxed has published its two-year update in an ongoing burn-in stress test of the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED. The monitor has been used in a worst-case desktop workflow, with long hours of static content, Windows light mode, and few OLED-friendly habits like aggressive sleep timers or hiding the taskbar. The channel reports roughly 6,500 hours of use across two years at around 200 nits, with regular panel compensation cycles logged by the display.

The most visible artifacts remain consistent with earlier updates. There is a vertical line near the center linked to side-by-side window layouts, plus inverse burn-in along the bottom where the Windows taskbar sits. At 24 months, Monitors Unboxed also says it can now see early icon-shaped burn-in within the taskbar area, described as faint shadows rather than clearly readable icon shapes (and don’t worry, it’s not Copilot).

Monitors Unboxed says the uneven wear mostly comes down to how the subpixels age over time. In its measurements, the white point shifted slightly, and full-screen peak brightness dropped a bit versus earlier checks.

The MSI MPG 321URX is a 32-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor, and it includes OLED care features designed to reduce burn-in risk under typical mixed use. This test is intentionally not typical, it is focused on sustained productivity workloads with many static UI elements. Even so, the results provide a useful reference point for buyers who plan to run OLED monitors as daily desktop displays for long hours.
