AMD expands Ryzen AI Embedded P100 with new 8-core to 12-core models

AMD has expanded its Ryzen AI Embedded P100 series with new 8-core to 12-core processors aimed at industrial automation and edge AI systems. The company says the new parts combine Zen 5 CPU cores, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and an XDNA 2 NPU on a single chip, with up to 80 system TOPS available in the higher-tier lineup.

The company is positioning the updated range for industrial PCs, robotics, machine vision, and medical imaging . AMD also says the expanded P100 series can deliver up to 39% higher multithreaded performance and up to 2.1x higher total system TOPS versus the prior Ryzen Embedded 8000 generation, while ROCm support is meant to ease deployment of AI frameworks on embedded systems.

This March update is separate from the original CES 2026 launch. AMD’s January 5 press release introduced the Ryzen AI Embedded portfolio and covered the first P100 models with 4 to 6 CPU cores, up to 50 NPU TOPS, a 15 W to 54 W operating range, and support for long-life embedded deployments.

AMD says the new 8-core to 12-core Ryzen AI Embedded P100 models are sampling now, with production shipments expected in July 2026. That makes this a scheduled expansion of the platform AMD first introduced at CES, rather than a separate product family launch.
