Intel launches Bartlett Lake 12P under Core Series 2 branding, but not for consumers

Intel Core 9 273PQE has 12 P-cores, 5.9 GHz boost and 125W TDP

Intel has officially introduced its C ore Series 2 with P-core processors , the long-rumored Bartlett Lake 12P family. The launch happened at Embedded World 2026, and Intel is positioning these chips for mission-critical edge and industrial deployments, not mainstream desktop retail. Intel’s product pages now list the new parts as launched in Q1 2026.

The top SKU is the Intel Core 9 273PQE, which features 12 Performance-cores, 24 threads, 36MB cache, and boost clocks up to 5.9 GHz at 125W base power . Intel also lists the 65W Core 9 273PE at up to 5.7 GHz and the 45W Core 9 273PTE at up to 5.5 GHz. All three use Intel 7 silicon and keep the same P-core-only layout, with no Efficient-cores.

Intel’s spec pages show up to 192GB memory support, DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200 support, ECC memory support, and integrated UHD Graphics 770. The platform also exposes up to 20 CPU PCIe lanes with PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 support, plus DMI 4 connectivity. On paper, this makes Bartlett Lake a straightforward fit for industrial systems that need higher single-threaded performance and simpler core scheduling than Intel’s hybrid desktop parts.

This is still not a consumer launch. Intel classifies the processors under the embedded segment, and its edge materials describe them as parts for industrial, healthcare, smart city, and other edge deployments. Intel also says the platform is socket-compatible with 12th Gen, 13th Gen, and 14th Gen Intel Core processors for edge, which should make upgrades easier for existing LGA1700-based embedded designs.

So while Bartlett Lake is now official, it arrives as an embedded and industrial product family rather than a new desktop option for DIY builders. Hopefully someone will buy it and figure out a way to make it work on consumer boards. I think Intel is wasting a huge opportunity here by not providing an alternative upgrade path for LGA-1700 owners, or perhaps, it is not much of an upgrade?
