NVIDIA RTX 5050 9GB spotted in shipping manifest

NVIDIA’s rumored GeForce RTX 5050 9GB variant has now appeared again, this time with more detailed specifications from kopite7kimi . The leaker lists PG152-SKU40, GB206-150-Kx-A1, 2560 FP32 cores, a 96-bit memory bus, 9GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 130W board power target. That matches the official 130W spec of the current desktop RTX 5050, which ships with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.
If accurate, this would be the third public sign that such a SKU exists. The first report pointed to an RTX 5050 refresh with 9GB of GDDR7 memory and a 96-bit interface, while a separate shipping-manifest sighting shared by harukaze5719 appears to show NVIDIA has been testing the card as well.

Moving form GDDR6 to GDDR7 memory – shorter memory bus, but more bandwdith
Instead of the current card’s 8GB configuration built around four 2GB GDDR6 modules on a 128-bit bus, the new variant is said to use three 3GB GDDR7 modules on a 96-bit bus . That is an unusual desktop gaming configuration, but it lines up with the reported 9GB capacity and narrower bus width.
Even with the narrower bus, bandwidth could still improve. The current RTX 5050 uses 20 Gbps GDDR6 for 320 GB/s of bandwidth, while a 96-bit GDDR7 design at 28 Gbps would reach 336 GB/s. That would give the 9GB card 12.5% more memory capacity and about 5% more bandwidth, at least on paper, while keeping the same 130W power target.
A 9GB RTX 5050 would still sit below the RTX 5060, but it would remove the current model’s status as the only desktop GeForce RTX 50 card still using GDDR6. I’m pretty sure this is not the card gamers were asking for, and it’s sad this is the only card being discussed on NVIDIA roadmaps.
