Lenovo ThinkPad with great repairability score

Lenovo’s new ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 and ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 have received a 10/10 repairability score from iFixit . The two systems are now listed together at the top of iFixit’s current laptop repairability rankings, putting them among the few notebooks on the site with a full score.
This is an improvement over Lenovo’s earlier repairability-focused T-series update shown at MWC 2024. iFixit says the previous T14 generation reached 9/10, while Lenovo now uses the new 10/10 result in its own MWC 2026 product announcement for the T14 Gen 7 and T16 Gen 5.
According to iFixit, the score comes from a set of service-friendly design choices. The outlet points to a nearly tool-free battery swap, standard M.2 SSD storage, an easy keyboard replacement process, serviceable LPCAMM2 memory, simpler display access, a modular cooling system with a separately replaceable fan, and individually replaceable Thunderbolt ports.

The 10/10 score does not mean every part is fully modular. iFixit says some lower-use I/O still sits on the main board or on smaller breakout boards, the Wi-Fi module is not practical to upgrade, and deeper display work still involves adhesive. In other words, Lenovo improved the parts that fail most often, but it has not turned the T-series into a fully modular Framework-style design. Anything that uses glue, in my opinion, shouldn’t receive a perfect score, but that’s just my opinion.

Lenovo says both models will be offered with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with Intel vPro or AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors. In EMEA, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 starts at €1,399 and the ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 starts at €1,499, with availability set for April 2026.
One thing to keep in mind before going into details, iFixit has a business relationship with Lenovo, which means they are paid by Lenovo. However, they claim this does not affect their rating.
