ECS presents first PC with Intel Nova Lake-S and B960 chipset, supports DDR5-8000

Core Ultra 400 in first ‘mini’ PC with desktop socket

Intel’s Nova Lake-S desktop platform has appeared in an ECS Liva P300 mini PC mockup shown at Embedded World 2026. According to ComputerBase, the system points to DDR5-8000 memory support for Intel’s next desktop generation, which is also said to carry Core Ultra 400 branding . The same report says Intel is still targeting a late 2026 launch , while broader platform availability is expected to stretch into early 2027.

ECS PC at Embedded World

The ECS system is described as a refreshed Liva P300 design built around the B960 chipset . ComputerBase says the mini PC has a 3.5-liter form factor and that ECS plans to offer more than 100 TOPS from Nova Lake alone, largely due to the integrated Xe3P graphics. The chassis can also reportedly take a low-profile discrete GPU through a horizontal riser layout.

The previewed system is also said to include Thunderbolt directly from the CPU, along with configurable rear I/O. ECS is reportedly planning a much larger power budget for this generation, with a 210 W to 240 W power supply under consideration instead of the 120 W unit used today.

The DDR5-8000 figure is one of the more important details from the report. As we reported, Arrow Lake Refresh is set to move to DDR5-7200 later this month, while Panther Lake is already there, so Nova Lake is expected to move one step higher at launch.

The details come from manufacturer mockups and conversations on the Embedded World show floor, so final specs can still change before launch. Even so, the appearance of an ECS system with B960 chipset branding and DDR5-8000 memory support gives one of the clearest early looks yet at how Nova Lake-S may be positioned for desktop systems and compact PCs.
